Nina was raised in Lodi and settled down in Hawthorne, where she lived with her husband, Keith, and their son, Nicholas, 3, according to her obituary on the Aloia Funeral Home website.
Nina worked as a Kindergarten teacher for 10 years, most recently in Elmwood Park at the 16 Avenue School.
A GoFundMe for Nina's husband and son had raised more than $20,000 as of Monday, Nov. 4.
"For over 10 years, Nina dedicated her life to teaching and inspiring countless students with her kindness, patience, and passion for learning," reads the campaign, launched by Maria Kittaneh.
"She was a devoted mother, wife, friend, and educator, whose warmth touched everyone she met, both in her family and in the classroom. Nina’s friendships were marked by love, laughter, and a genuine care that enriched the lives of those around her."
She is survived by her husband, Keith; their son, Nicholas; her father, Salvatore Cutrona; her sisters, Carmela Cebi (Fatih), and Paola Cutrona (Gail Julian), and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loved ones. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Cutrona in 2020.
